Use the Options menu > Graphics Mode command to specify GDI Plus or ActiveX display mode. Then the Options menu > Graphics Mode > Graphics Mode Settings command can be used to display the Graphics Mode Settings form; use that for to refine the model display. When some of the options are used in conjunction with the options available on the Display Options for Active Window form, the display of various objects in the model is more noticeable and thus easier to interpret. The potential effects of using these commands on the speed of the program depends on the graphics card and computer configuration.
GDI Plus (Standard) command -- GDI Plus makes two-dimensional drawing easier.
DirectX command -- Direct X is better suited for displaying full color graphics and 3D animation..
Note: Each time the program is launched, the program "remembers" which graphical mode was set the last time the program was used.
Note: For each of the commands, the Options menu > Colors > Display command can be used to specify a color scheme. When the SAP2000 query asks if you want to switch to the default background color, select No to use the color scheme specified using the .Options menu > Colors > Display command.
