Form: Hinge Results
Use the Display menu > Show Hinge Results command to review a plot of plastic rotation vs moment, plastic deformation vs shear force, plastic deformation vs. axial force for a selected hinge.
Assign a hinge(s) to a frame object.
Define a nonlinear static load case whose Results Saved type is Multiple States and run the analysis.
Click the Display menu > Show Hinge Results command to display the Hinge Results form. Use the options on the form to select the hinge for which results are to be plotted.
Select Hinge drop-down list. Choose the hinge for which results are to be plotted.
Show Hinge on Selected Frame Only check box. If frame objects were selected before the Display menu > Show Hinge Results command was used, this check box will be checked, and only the hinges for the selected frame object will be available in the Select Hinge drop-down list.
TIP: The Select menu > Select Hinge command on this form can be used to select a frame object and thus limit the hinges available in the Select Hinge drop-down list to only those on the selected frame object.
Show Hinge Property Definition button. Click the button to display the Frame Hinge Property Data form. Use the Modify/Show Hinge Property button on that form to display the Frame Hinge Property Data for {Property Name} form. The form is for review purposes only and cannot be edited here.
Hinge Location and Behavior area
Frame Object display box. The frame object to which the hinge is assigned is displayed in this box.
Relative Distance display box. The value shown in this display box is the relative distance specified when the hinge was assigned to the frame object.
Hinge Behavior display box. This is the hinge behavior that was specified when the hinge was defined.
Units drop-down list. Use the currently displayed units for the values entered in this form or choose another from this drop-down list. The selected units will be used in the display of the hinge results.
Hinge Results display area. The plot of the hinge chosen in the Select Hinge drop-down list will display in this area. The type of plot depends on the type of hinge.
Select Load Case drop-down list and Step scroll buttons. Use the drop-down list to choose the load case for which the hinges are to be plotted. Use the scroll buttons to select the Step in the analysis.
Current Hinge Data are, including Hinge DOF drop-down list and Hinge State and Hinge Status display boxes. Select the degree of freedom to be plotted from the Hinge DOF drop-down list. Various display boxes will be added in this area of the form to provide the current data for the hinge plot. The names of the edit boxes and the values in them depend on the type of hinge being plotted. The Hinge State display box shows the location of the plot (i.e., mouse pointer) with respect to the A, B, C, D, and E values for the load deformation. The Hinge Status display box shows the location of the plot (mouse pointer) with respect to the Acceptance Criteria IO, LS and CP. See the Frame Hinge Property Data for Name Form topic for more information.
Plot Control Parameters area. The check boxes in this area of the form control the graphic in the display area. When the check appears in a check box, that control is enabled. The function of the control is assumed to be self-explanatory. Click the small color box to display the Color form and select a new color for displaying the hinge backbone.
Slide bar and Horiz and Vert display boxes. Use the slide bar below the plot to move the mouse pointer along the plot of the hinge. Alternatively, move the mouse pointer over the display area and the location of the mouse pointer will display in the Horiz and Vert display boxes.
The Hinge Results form also has a File menu and a Select menu with subcommands.

Print Setup for Graphics |
Use this command to access the print setup form of the printer connected to the computer displaying the hinge results. |
Use Color Printer |
This is a toggle. When a check mark precedes this command, the command is enabled and the graphic can be printed in color assuming that the printing device prints in color. |
Print Graphics |
Immediately sends the plot to the printer. |
Display Tables |
Displays the Table Display form. That form shows the hinge results data in tabular format. Use the File menu commands on that form to export the hinge data to Excel or Access. Use the commands on the Edit menu to apply or remove filtering and sorting criteria for the data on the Table Display form. |
