The template structures available using the Solid Models form consist of a thick arch, a prism, a variable arch and a block.
Choose the type of solid model by clicking on it in the Solid Model Type drop-down list in the upper left corner of the form. A drawing of the selected type will be shown in the small display box.
Thick Arch Dimensions
Note: Click the Parametric Definition button to display a drawing illustrating the following parameters.
Height, H edit box. Specify the height of the arch.
Thickness, W edit box. Specify the thickness of the arch.
Start Angle, T1 edit box. Specify the start angle relative to the X axis in the counter-clockwise direction.
End Angle, T2 edit box. Specify the end angle relative to the X axis in the counter-clockwise direction.
Outer Radius, R edit box. Specify the outer radius of the arch.
Num of Divisions, Radial edit box. Specify the number of radial divisions.
Num of Divisions, Angular edit box. Specify the number of angular divisions.
Num of Divisions, Z edit box. Specify the number of divisions in the Z direction.
Locate Origin button. Click this button to display the Coord System Location and Orientation form. Use the form to specify the location of the origin for the model.
Section Properties
Areas drop-down list. SAP2000 will suggest a section property for the areas in this drop-down list. The section property will apply to all of the areas.
TIP: Click the + (plus) symbol next to the drop-down list to access the Area Sections form; use that form to add, modify or delete an area section definition. The Assign menu > Areas > Area Sections command can be used to change the section property later, if needed.
Restraints check box. When this check box is checked, SAP2000 will assign default restraints to each point at the base of the model.
Gridlines check box. When this check box is checked, the model will display with grid lines when the OK button is clicked. Uncheck this check box to turn off the grid lines. The View menu > Show Grids command also can be used to turn the grid lines on or off after the model has been initiated.
Variable Arch Dimensions

Bottom Height, H1 edit box. Specify the height of the bottom portion of the arch.
Top Height, H2 edit box. Specify the height of the top portion of the arch.
