Template - 3D Frames

The template structures available using the 3D Frame form include an open frame building, perimeter frame building, beam-slab building, or flat plate building.

Choose the type of frame by clicking on it in the 3D Frames Type drop-down list in the upper left corner of the form. A drawing of the selected frame type will be shown in the small display box.

Open Frame Building or Perimeter Frame BuildingOpen Frame Building or Perimeter Frame Building

TIP: Click the + (plus) symbol next to the drop-down lists to access the Frame Properties form; use that form to add, modify or delete a frame section definition. The Assign menu > Frame > Frame Sections command can be used to change the section property later, if needed.

Beam-Slab BuildingBeam-Slab Building

Access the 3D Frames form as follows:

  1. Click the File menu > New Model command to display the New Model form.

  2. Set the Units to Metric or English using the Initialize Model from Defaults with Units drop-down list or the Initialize from Existing Model option.

  3. Click the 3D Frames button.
