Form: Analysis Monitor
As SAP2000 runs an analysis, informational messages about the analysis can be specified to scroll by in the Analysis Monitor. Scrolling through the information provides the opportunity to monitor the solution process and convergence behavior, and check for any warnings or errors that might invalidate your analysis. Also note that this information is saved, in text form, in the .LOG file. Access the .LOG file using the File menu > Show Input/Output Text Files command, or any text editor or word processing program.
Use the Less/More buttons to reduce or increase the size of the form and, thus, the visibility of the data displayed.
Close the form by clicking the X in the upper right-hand corner of the form.
Note that the following Analysis Monitor Options appear on the Set Load Cases to Run form (Analyze menu > Set Load Cases to Run command). Use the options to specify when the Analysis Monitory is shown.
Always Show option. When this option is selected, the Analysis Monitor is shown as soon as the analysis starts.
Never Show option. When this option is selected, the analysis runs without the Analysis Monitor, and thus, the informational analysis messages are not displayed. To review the messages, click the Analyze menu > Show Last Run Details command to display the most recent analysis results in the Analysis Monitor.
Show After ___ seconds option. When this option is selected, specify the number of seconds to elapse before the Analysis Monitor is shown after the analysis is started.
Also, as the analysis is running, a Show Details button will be added to the Status bar. Clicking this button will show the Analysis Monitor if it is not already shown. Please note that the Analysis Monitor will always load and display critical messages from the analysis regardless of the option selected for Analysis Monitor Options.
After an analysis has been run, the Analyze menu > Show Last Run Details command can be used to display the most recent analysis results in the Analysis Monitor.
